Machine and plant manufacturers from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg can benefit from VDMA's large network and its expertise and further expand their competitive position.

The export-oriented European mechanical and plant engineering industry is deeply rooted in its regions. Its companies are not only subject to the regulations in their respective countries but must also gear their actions to European and international regulations. It is becoming increasingly difficult to solve challenges alone or at a national level. Networking within and outside traditional industry definitions – national and international – is an important extension of a company's own capabilities.

VDMA offers a kaleidoscope of possibilities

As the strongest trade association in Europe, VDMA also offers manufacturers of machines and plants from the European Union and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) the opportunity to become equal and full members of the VDMA. Companies, start-ups or co-operations from the Benelux machinery and plant construction sector can thus be part of a successful international corporate network and effectively promote common topics.

The VDMA's international corporate network is made up of many building blocks: Events, congresses, cooperation in committees and along the value-added chain that help work in trade associations or working groups to advance specialist topics not only within the company itself but also at national and international level. In addition, VDMA brings together partners from research and development, universities and other associations at national and international level.

The VDMA as a knowledge resource

The VDMA facilitates contact with other market participants along the value chain and offers opportunities for exchange at all operational levels. It brings experts together at an international level, provides Europe-wide statistics and market data, carries out European and international standardization work, initiates international campaigns and, as a think tank, has the worldwide trends and developments for the coming decades on its radar. His trade fair scouting provides an important orientation aid in the worldwide range of trade fairs relevant to mechanical engineering. In addition, it provides platforms for the development and expansion of export-relevant know-how and accompanies the foreign business of its members. It is an information broker for its member companies and the mouthpiece of the industry on a national and international level.

Already today, European members can access and use the comprehensive tailored services and take advantage of VDMA offices in Brazil, China, India, Japan, Russia, Poland and Austria. Besides, there is an efficient European office located in Brussels, which is in exchange with local European decision-makers and multipliers, e.g. European commission, European parliament.
