The VDMA – one of the strongest associations for mechanical and plant engineering within the EU – supports mechanical and plant engineering companies from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg in order to maintain and expand their competitiveness on the global markets.
Thanks to foreign demand for production equipment for the semiconductor and flat-panel display production equipment , the tenth largest mechanical engineering production centre in the world is expected to achieve sales growth in 2020 as well. However, most of the other machine groups are facing declining demand.
On 14 September 2020, Economics and Digital Affairs Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart and Petra Wassner, Managing Director of the state-owned economic development agency NRW.INVEST, presented the NRW.INVEST AWARD 2020 to four international companies.
As in previous start-up events, selected start-ups presented their innovative and digital solutions, which were primarily aimed at the mechanical and plant engineering sector. The English-language online event was attended by participants from the mechanical and plant engineering sector from Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg (BeNeLux), Austria and Germany.
